  The real estate market is tough here in Michigan.  Marketing studies reveal that potential buyers will form an opinion of your home in less than 15 seconds (on the internet no less). Many homes will be rejected by potential buyers before they ever walk in the door. Now, more than ever, you must have what Realtors refer to as "Curb Appeal" both inside & out. You can't afford to ignore this often overlooked "Seller's Edge" to attract your target market. Do you even know who your specific target market is?

  Many of us are aware of what "Curb Appeal" looks like on the outside of a home, but what about on the inside?  What do potential buyers see when they first walk inside? What will they notice in each room?  Most importantly, what will they actually remember once they leave?

  Creating curb appeal, inside & out, is referred to by real estate professionals as "Home Staging".  It is the process of preparing your home to attract your target market and THEN showcasing the space in your home, instead of your particular taste in decorum. 

  Home Staging is affordable!  Far less than a price-reduction. In today's tough Real Estate market you really need to pay attention to detail.  Like our children, we all tend to think of our home as better looking than it may appear to others!  It definitely pays to get an objective opinion! What do potential buyers really see?  What will they remember? I think you'd be surprised. Home staging is a science. There is a psychology involved in the sale of a home. Today's buyers are a whole different breed. Don't think that the old tactics will work just fine (i.e. the smell of cookies baking in the oven, candles, etc).  Not so.
